MacuScope™

MacuScope™ is a screening tool that we use on every adult patient. The purpose of MacuScope™ is to measure the density of a person's Macular Protective Pigment Density (MPPD) — low MPPD is a major, modifiable risk factor for Macular Degeneration. This device does not diagnose disease but only screens patients for a deficiency that can be related to the development of Macular Degeneration.

Cirrus™ HD-OCT by Carl Zeiss Meditec

The Cirrus™ HD-OCT instrument represents the most sophisticated diagnostic imaging technology available today for the eye. We are able to image the eye in a completely different way with this system. It is our front-line imaging system for dignosing as well as treatment and management of retinal diseases. The Cirrus™ even allows us to view pathologies as detailed 3-D models.

Visante™ OCT by Carl Zeiss Meditec

The Visante™ OCT is a specialized scanning laser instrument that allows us to scan the front of the eye and see the structures cross-sectionally. We are able measure corneal thickness, track post-refractive surgery patients as well as measure other anatomical features in the front of the eye that are generally very difficult to do with conventional techniques.

HRT3 by Heidelberg Engineering

The HRT3 instrument is another retinal imaging system that we use in diagnosis, treatment and management of retinal disease. It is primarily configured for use with patients that may have or are diagnosed with Glaucoma. The HRT3 uses laser light to capture layered images of the retinal tissue which gives us the ability to image the optic nerve in three dimensions.

ATLAS™ Corneal Topographer by Carl Zeiss Meditec

Most eye doctors fit contact lenses with old technology that only measures four points within an area three millimeters (3mm) in diameter. The average human corneal diameter is a little more than four times that. That's a lot to miss out on when fitting contact lenses. This system allows us to get a more complete view of the cornea and subsequently helps us make better fitting decisions before a lens even touches your eye.
